Aversion to blogging
A certain friend complained to me this afternoon, regarding the lack of entries in Alison blogosphere. I'm not sure where this week has disappeared to, whether its because I've been particularly lazy in blogland, or the fact that I've been preoccupied with other things.
Its partly because I've been trying to do some work on the BSL recognition website, partly because I got broadband last Monday and I've been showing off broadband capabilities to myself and gleaming with glee at video clips. I even got to see some footage of the recent BDA congress on Deaf Station.
Otherwise, I've been geeking myself up more, with more geeky blogs and with it comes anorak facts. How sad am I getting? This week, we set up a BSL discussion group, which is currently housed at Yahoo, but about to be moved to Googlegroups. Googlegroups allows attachments to be stored in the archives, and what's more, I can't find a file limit.
Oh yes, I've been feeling ill too. Yesterday, it started with socks, then a duvet over me. Still couldn't get warm, so I moved onto putting my blue fleece on (the warmest garment I own), then a blanket plus the heating on a full 25c. Yes it is August. A combination of crap weather, and an ill Alison. Think my body is still recovering from last weekend's sun stint: a massive repair job is taking place skin wise, not to mention the sickness.
I must admit, part of my adversion to posting here, it feels like the whole world and its dog has been nagging me to put a vblog together. ie sign to myself and generally make a prat of oneself. Anyone offering incentives for me to get my act together?
J, are you happy now?

Guilty as charged - I'm one of these horrible people nagging Alison to do a vblog. This is only because I know how BSL orientated Ali can be, and how much she wants to BSLise everything.
It's simply a matter of being able to physically use the webcam that is delaying things. Once set up, I bet you she'll be "sign blogging" (as opposed to "vblogging" and sending sign emails to deaf-uk-bsl on a daily basis!
Incentives - how about a crate of white wine from the vineyards of California? 1992 vintage! (grin)
