Cranky

I'm so cranky and irritable this evening. Just got back from the pub, where we went for a meal with relatives. When my parents booked, we were supposed to have our meal in the restuarant, however only this afternoon they remembered that they had double booked, and there was a party for teachers from one school. When we arrived, the room was full of teachers behaving like the teenagers they teach. Christmas, plus the end of school term, a perfectly leathal combination. Placing Scrooge in the middle, is not a good idea. I'm really not sociable right now.

Sitting in this room, with the illusion of the whole thing caving in, and trying to communicate I was like ... GETMEOUTNOW. I so nearly left before I had my meal, only a picture of my christening was produced. Being the baby bawling my head off in the photo, I became insanely jealous. Oh the freedom to scream and not be judged! I wanted to scream there and then, to show disaffection at the whole situation. I stayed for the meal, becoming restless every second. Think a room full of rowdy teachers, smoke everywhere and not having a clue what was happening conversation wise. Cranky queen was at the table ...

I ended up leaving after the world's slowest eater finished their meal. Now sitting at home, ah peace!, the bliss of just having space to yourself. Now trying to squeeze that crankiness out of every vein ...

The longing for Earl Grey and bed, does that make me old?

I strongly advise you invest in a baseball bat.

Best investment I ever made. :D

Do your parents not know how frustrating communication gets for you, nor do they try to include you etc.? Or is it just not that simple?

Awww...but LOL @ the "world's slowest eater"

By the way I've now syndicated you into my own blog with RSS so I will be able to keep up on your news better :) I'd offer you to do the same, but I'm with Livejournal and my posts are friends-only to other Livejournal users.

Ah. I have a LJ account, but I've only used it once, and I'll be damned if I can remember the u/n. Will see if I can remember ..

In any case, LJ is also owned by SixApart, and the platforms might be more streamlined in the future. I know Mena Trott has done presentations on how to control content access on blogs ...

Yeah I reckon OpenID will be adopted by Moveable Type soon - LJ already has it. In fact I think I read that there is a downloadable patch for Moveable Type?

Anyway, should you remember your LJ, my username is welshdiver :)

I don't suppose you are watching/ or have watched that Brit series TEACHERS? That's what this post reminder me of. Talk about being worse than the teenagers you teach.... That's TEACHERS!
