A Walk in the Woods
There's nothing like a walk in a wood to spell out autumn is here. Leaves dying, a low afternoon sun that struggles to penetrate through branches to its bed only slightly compensated by a raging variation of an orange composition that adorns the floor. That peaty smell that lingers on your shoes long after you've left, and symbols of autumn that too are decaying. Yep, I walked up a hill, surrounded by lots of trees, to savour mid-October.
Since I'd get 0/10 for description, here's some photos instead:

Nature is a good reminder of time, something I swear moves faster as you get older.

@ Fintan, for the red mushroom pictures, yep I was on the ground. And that's all there is to it! Except you're meant to be grateful, since I was lying on damp ground in cotton *summer* trousers. Anything for a picture(!), however I was lucky as it was a hill thus helped with the angle. Orange mushrooms, I remained on my feet. Think there's a couple more pictures on Flickr, if not have loads more on this machine.
@ Jennifer - you just have an ulterior motive, i.e. you want me for (some reason) to blog more.
Just wish I knew the names of these mushrooms. An old housemate would know, no references needed.

Lurvely, but you seem to have some strange obsession with mushrooms!?

They are colourful, no desire to go tripping, honest(!)
My other photos of trees were way too dark (lack of light) and boring.
