KeepVid
I've been asked several times this year, if it is possible to save videos that are produced online. KeepVid allows you to save videos from sites such as YouTube.
To date sign language has been poorly documented and archived, especially on a community level. One hopes such a site would go some way to archiving.

MM being saved for posterity mmmmm..... or even MM :) It depends if you want to watch other deaf brushing teeth I suppose, not many know deaf people can do this, it will be a vital record for the future.

There is no information on KeepVid about how it'll ensure your precious videos won't get lost.
It doesn't say anything about uploading to the Internet Archive or anything else like that, more's the pity.
Since if you want something to be documentated and kept and stored for future generations to poke and laugh, then the Internet Archive is the only one since it's US Government funded and thus less likely to go under compared to commerical/private offerings

No, you save videos on your computer, or upload to your server. (Yes copyright issues).
This is a question people keep asking me: how do I save videos that are uploaded to YouTube?
Agree re Internet Archive, and something I've talked about previously with Our Media. I believe the British Library has made an effort to archive net content in the past, but perhaps hasn't got as far as multimedia to date.
It is something that needs to be looked at, since there isn't a written version of sign language. (Don't someone suggest sign writing please).
